Mourning – get comfort and power with essential oils

Mourning – what can you do?

Mourning is a feeling that occurs all of a sudden and spreads like a big dark shadow over our life. It hurts to lose a beloved friend or to deal with a separation. It is difficult to stand the death of a dog or cat that was part of our life.

We feel lonesome and cannot imagine to ever get rid of this deep mourning feeling inside us.

Essential oils can help to better deal with difficult situations. As soon as we inhale them, they approach the limbic system in our brain-area. This is where emotions and memories are processed. Part of the limbic system is the gland amygdala. It plays an important role when it comes to storage and release of emotional traumas. The amygdala can be stimulated by frangrances via our olfactory sense. That´s why essential oils are key to handle mourning and sorrow.

Great experiences with Console, Peace & Forgive oils

The three essential oils Console, Peace and Forgive are part of the do Terra Emotional Aromatherapy Kit. You can of course also purchase these emotion-oils one by one.

Do Terra emotional therapy kit with six essential oil blends

Console, the consolation blend, is the all-rounder to give support with mourning, death or loss. It consists of Frankincense, Patchouli, Ylang Ylang, Labdanum, Amyris, Sandalwood, Rose and Osmanthus.
We have recommended this essential oil quite often to our clients. The feedback was always positive. Although even the best essential oil can never give back the beloved, the fragrance of Console has been experienced as comforting.

You can purchase all Emotional Aromatherapy oils as 5 ml oils or as roll-ons (=touchs). The latter are already diluted with fractionated coconut oil.

Peace, the reassurance blend, gives a feeling of inner peace. This is especially helpful during the night. People love to diffuse this oil before going to bed.
Ingredients: Vetiver, Lavender, Ylang Ylang, Frankincense, Clary Sage, Marjoram, Labdanum and Spearmint.

The third oil that is supportive with mourning is Forgive. This blend challenges individuals to let go bitterness and hostilities.
Forgive consists of Spruce, Bergamot, Juniper Berry, Myrrh, Arborvitae, Nootka tree, Thyme and Citronella.

Finally one more comment: essential oils remind our body and soul to help itself in difficult situations. Therefore it is better to use less oil more often. 1-2 drops of essential oil inhaled via the nose several times a day  or 4-5 drops diffused in the room is good.

We wish you all the best when using essential oils as natural support for challenging times. Looking forward to hearing about your experiences. We are keen to learn more so that we can share with others that are in need!

In case you do not have essential oils at home, you may easily purchase do Terra oils via our website.
